I'm heading into the studio this morning to take some photos of a new embroidery sampler series. Here's a sneak preview. More to come soon!
I spent Friday packaging up everyone's monthly subscriptions, and somehow managed to get them out the door and into the mailbox before Saturday. Some of you might even have them on your kitchen counters by now.... I've been having so much fun sitting in the glow of the radiator stitching these Colorburst Samplers in the late afternoons. In a season without a lot of color, they make me really happy. This one, Pansy, is in the mail now. I stitched mine with back stitch, running stitch, french knots, and Algerian eyes. How would/will you stitch yours? If you are a Stitch of the Month subscriber, this month you'll receive Feather Stitches- the version pictured below was stitched by my Mom. Hi Mom! For the entire year in one book/post, click here . For a mom that will stitch them all for you, I can't help you. She's all mine.

Downtown Brooklyn This year I'm trying to get a jump start on things, and spent a few hours this week painting some valentines. They aren't quite finished yet, but painting them sure was a welcome break from an otherwise difficult week. In the spirit of heart shaped boxes, and good mail days, and brightening someone's day, will you join me in making some ...
Happy New Year everybody! This year, the holidays felt more welcome than ever. I had a very busy December, and relished almost every minute of my break. It felt so good to bake cookies and lounge around, to indulge in this fabulous cocktail, and to catch up on last season's Downton Abbey. Things are slowly getting back to normal around here, with the rogue cocktail and bits of Babka left over from New Year's Eve popping up now and then. I mean, it would be too bad to say goodbye altogether to the merriment, no? In the spirit of the new year, I'm in the midst of a big reorganization in the studio. It's too much of a horrible mess right now to show you a picture, so I'll show you this... the in process view of this year's first sampler. Thank You so much to everyone who has subscribed! I am starting to address your envelopes this weekend, and can't believe just how many of you there are! If you are still thinking of Subscribing , ...
